Put an end to "Ferris Wheel Back Pain Treatment"... - The Physio Revolution

Put an end to “Ferris Wheel Back Pain Treatment”…

I always despised ferris wheels at the carnival as a kid, but never understood why I was so scared.  Everyone else would beg to get in line, wait for 20 minutes to hop on, and then run to the next ride afterwards.  I happily was a coat/purse hanger with my feet stationed to the ground. I have a fear of heights. Makes sense now.

Now, that experience fits well into the fear of the ferris wheel back pain treatment that I’ve seen all too often and is very similar to that ride I still dread.  I’ll explain how these relate in a little bit.

BACK PAIN CYCLE:

First, let’s talk about the pattern most people follow when it comes to back issues. If you are like 80% of the people in this crazy world of ours, when back problems arise, we follow a very familiar cycle:

  1. Something causes back pain (either on accident, gradual onset, or sporadic).
  2. We put off going to see the doctor as long as possible.
  3. Wait and rest.

And why wouldn’t you?

FERRIS WHEEL TREATMENT:  (this is when you hop on the ride)

You know more than likely, 90% chance, that the back pain is not “serious” and you’ll be given options of pain meds, take an x-ray on that cold table, or told to just “rest” and “do what you can” for the time being.

If the pain continues, you’ll go back and get referred to an orthopedist specialist who will likely want an MRI to explain your pain, who then may prescribe some physical therapy (less than 7% chance this will happen), or worse, they’ll skip all those steps and send you to a pain management specialist for injections or higher doses of pain medications.

What becomes more frustrating for this cycle is that if the pain subsides or you get better, it’s temporary.  You may step off of the Ferris Wheel for a bit.  Then before long, another back pain episode comes on, you get back in line, and you follow the same cycle of standard treatment on the ride all over again.

Now, not every body hates the ferris wheel like myself, but you can imagine the idea of being stuck on the ferris wheel, hanging in a cart, waiting for someone to rescue you to lower you back to the ground to get off of the dang ride could become frustrating.  This is how the back pain cycle continues to go around and around… without finding a REAL LONG-TERM SOLUTION to back pain.

One of the first places we start is by putting the focus on you with the end result in mind.

Meaning, what is ONE of the most important things you really want to be able to do in your life, but can’t right now, because of this pain?  If we could even improve your back pain as little as 30%, what kind of VALUE would that bring to your life?

Instead of focusing on short-term fixes, we look at the long-term plan of what you want to be able to do and get back to that will ensure you KEEP doing it down the road.

Our goal is to get you off of the Ferris Wheel of Back Pain Treatment, learn strategies and techniques to help back pain from reoccurring, and keep you away from those awful pain medications that ruin your gut & organs, stop relying on injections, and keep you away from unnecessary surgeries.

Getting to the root cause of back problems takes a little time.  We do not provide a cookie-cutter, one size fits all approach. The treatment is tailored and individualized to you with the end-result in mind.
